2013-04-22, Seattle received 1000 chrrey trees as a gift from Japan many years ago. There are a large quantity of them on the University of Washington campus and I loved spending time there when they were in bloom. Sadly, many of the trees are starting to die as they are reaching the end of their lifespan (something like 60 or 70 years) so they are hoping to replace most of them with grafts from the original trees. I'm not sure how that's going.
